Slightly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water and ether, easily soluble in ethanol. It is used as plasticizer and in alkyd resin, paint and chemical synthesis. Irritating to skin, eyes, mucous membrane and upper respiratory tract. Inhalation or ingestion is harmful to the body.
