Pharmacology and toxicology

Pharmacology:

This product is a derivative of artemisinin, which has a strong and rapid killing effect on the red phase of plasmodium, and can quickly control clinical attacks and symptoms.
The mechanism of action of artemisinin is not well understood. It mainly interferes with the membrane-mitochondrial function of plasmodium.
Artemisinin changes the membrane structure of plasmodium plasmodium by affecting the ultrastructure of its red phase.
Due to the action on the food vesicle, the nutrient intake of plasmodium is blocked. When the plasmodium loses a lot of cytoplasm and nutrients, but cannot get the supplement, it soon dies.
The action is mediated by free iron from the breakdown of hemoglobin via an internal peroxide (dioxygen) bridge, producing unstable organic free radicals and/or other electron-friendly mediators that then form covalent adducts with plasmodium proteins that kill the parasite.
Artemether has 6 times more antimalarial activity than artemisinin.

Toxicology:

Studies on animal reproductive toxicity have shown that induction of pregnancy in mice can increase embryo absorption, but no teratogenic effect has been found.
