What is Fenofibrate?

Fenofibrate is used with a proper diet to help treat high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels.

In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet),other lifestyle changes that may help fenofibrate work better include exercising, losing weight when you are overweight, and quitting smoking.

Application:

1) Fenofibrate is used to improve cholesterol levels in three types of cholesterol problems.

2) Mixed dyslipidemia: low-density lipoprotein (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels are high, and high-density lipoprotein (good) cholesterol levels are low.

3) Severe hypertriglyceridemia: very high triglyceride levels.

4) Primary hypercholesterolemia: low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels are very high.

5) Fenofibrate helps reduce high levels of harmful cholesterol, mainly triglycerides. It also helps to increase the level of high-density lipoprotein (good) cholesterol.
