| Property of Machinable Glass Ceramics 1. MGC can be machined with ordinary metal working tools and there is not need for post firing - meaning fast turnaround 2. It has a continuous use temperature of 800 C and the the max. Is up to 1000 C. 3. MGC has low thermal conductivity, it is a exellent temperature insulator. 4. MGC has no porosity and will not outgas when properly baked. It is widely used in ultra high vacuum applications. 5. MGC has high electric insulativity and it is used extensively throughout the semiconductor and electronic industries. 6. MGC has radiation resistant and plays a key role in nuclear applications and nuclear-related research and development. 7. MGC is unlike high temperature plastics, it will not creep or deform. 8.
