Introduction

DL-Mandelic acid is a colorless chemical, flake or powder solid, light color, slight odor. Soluble in hot water, ethyl-ether and isopropyl alcohol. In the pharmaceutical industry can be used for intermediate methyl benzoylformate, cefamandole, vasodilator Cyclandelate, eyedrops Hydrobenzole, cylert etc, also can be used as a preservative. 

Used as a chemical reagent for organic synthesis. Used as pesticide raw materials and intermediates, dye intermediates, etc.

Function

Mandelic acid has a long history of use in the community as an , particularly in the treatment of urinary tract infections. It has also been used as an oral antibiotic, and as a component of 'chemical face peels', along with other alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). The cyclandelate and homatropine are esters of mandelic acid.

Application
1.In pharmaceutical field, mandelic acid is used as intermediates of Methenamine Mandelate,Hacosan, Hydrrobenzole and more.
2.In cosmetics, mandelic acid is used for acne treatment, wrinkles treatment, pre-laser and post-lser treatment. mandelic acid is used in cleansers, face washes, moisturizers and eye-life creams.
3.For industrial use, mandelic acid is used for synthesis.
