TBHQ Mainly used as inhibiter for polyvinyl chloride. In food industry it is used as antioxidation for vegetable oil and fat, roasted food, fried food and meat products. It also used as stabilizer for insecticide, as well as intermediate for dye and pharmaceutical.
Tertiary (TBHQ) is the synthetic food grade antioxidant, used in stabilizing various vegetable oils, fats and food against oxidative deterioration, thus retarding development of rancidity in these products and extending their storage life.
Application
1. Antioxidant. Suitable for crude oils and highly unsaturated oils such as sunflower oil.
2. For cooking oils and baked goods, it should be used in combination with BHA, but it is suitable for cooking products.
3. As an antioxidant, it can be used in edible oils, fried foods, biscuits, instant noodles, instant boiled rice, canned dried fruits, dried fish products and cured meat products.
