For the time being, Tec-Sieve stair treads made of steel grating sections fall into four types: T1, T2, T3 and T4. 1.       What Are Stair Treads?
The stair tread is the flat horizontal component of a stair step upon which a person walks. Tec-Sieve steel grating stair treads are available in carbon steel and stainless steel alloys. Carbon steel grating stair treads are all hot dip galvanized, and they are available using resistance welded grating sections or pressure locked grating sections. Stainless steel grating stair treads are available in either resistance welded grating sections or pressure locked grating sections, and as a rule, they are supplied in mill finish.
Tec-Sieve steel grating stair treads are joined onto the stringers by using either the welding process (if stair treads have no end plates) or bolting process (if stair treads have end plates).  

2.       Types of Tec-Sieve Steel Grating Stair Treads
Type T1: Type T1 steel grating stair tread has no nosing and no pre-punched and slotted end plates, and it is fixed onto the stringers through the use of the welding process.
Type T2: Type T2 steel grating stair tread has pre-punched and slotted end plates , but has no nosing, and it is fixed onto the stringers through the use of the bolting process.
Type T3: Type T3 steel grating stair tread has no pre-punched and slotted end plates, but has checkered plate nosing, and it is fixed onto the stringers through the use of the welding process.
Type T4: Type T4 steel grating stair tread has both checkered plate nosing and pre-punched and slotted end plates, and it is fixed onto the stringers through the use of the bolting process.
 
3.       Technical Specifications of Tec-Sieve Steel Grating Stair Treads
Tec-Sieve steel bar grating stair treads are safe, self-cleaning, skid-resistant and economical. 
Tec-Sieve steel bar grating stair treads include welded steel bar grating stair treads and riveted or bolted steel bar grating stair treads. Steel grating sections which are used for forming Tec-Sieve stair treads are either pressure resistance welded sections or press-locked sections.
Tec-Sieve welded steel bar grating stair treads are the most widely used for their strength and ease of installation and are universally used in most industrial and commercial applications. Tec-Sieve riveted or bolted steel bar grating stair treads have a greater load carrying capacity for the same span and depth of bearing bar and greater walking comfort. Both stair treads can be supplied with a serrated surface for additional safety. If special safety is required, steel checkered plate nosing is available from Tec-Sieve to increase strength at the point of greatest impact and provide a definitive visible edge.
Tec-Sieve Company usually produces steel bar grating stair treads according to the following technical parameters:
Steel Grade: Carbon steel or stainless steel alloy.
Surface Treatment: For carbon steel, hot dip galvanize them, paint them or in mill black finish; for stainless steel alloy, electrolytically polish them or in mill finish.
Bearing Flat Bars: They could be a flat-surface profile, or a serrated-surface profile or an I- shaped profile. The thickness of bearing flat bars is normally 3mm, 5mm, 6mm or 8mm. The space between two neighboring bearing flat bars (center distance or clear opening size) is usually 30mm or 40mm.     
Cross Bars: Cross bars could be either round steel bars or cold twisted square bars. In most cases, Tec-Sieve Company uses cold twisted square bars as cross bars. The sizes of cold twisted square bars are usually 6mmX6mm and 8mmX8mm,etc. The space between two neighboring cross bars (center distance or clear opening size) is usually 50mm or 100mm. If you need another value for the said space, Tec-Sieve Company could custom design for you, provided that your proposed value is reasonable.
Checkered Plate Nosing: Checkered plate nosing usually measures 3mm thick and 50mm wide. And its length amounts to the length of the stair tread.
End Plates: Tec-Sieve Riveted or bolted steel bar grating stair treads usually need two flat bars measuring 65mmX5mm used as end plates. As a rule, one Φ14mm bolt hole and one Φ14 ellipse bolt hole are pre-punched on each of both end plates. We can also specially process the end plates upon request from the client. 
Physical Size of Stair Treads: The length and width of Tec-Sieve steel bar grating stair treads are always determined based on the actual requirements of the client.
In addition, Tec-Sieve steel bar grating stair treads are custom fabricated to meet the size, width and length specifications of a particular job. The end plates can also be custom fabricated to meet special bolt hole size or location requirements.
