HW's new OSN500/OSN550 business board TNH2EFS8 8-channel 100M Ethernet board with switching function

 

OSN 550 is new-generation optical transmission equipment developed by Huawei. It adopts the TDM + packet (MPLS/MPLS-TP-based) dual-domain architecture and supports a variety of service access modes. It mainly applies to the access layer of metropolitan area networks (MANs) and local transmission networks to access services over VIP private lines and from wireless base stations.

2. Unified switching architecture and multi-service transmission
OSN 550 supports service bearing in both the time division multiplexing (TDM) domain and the packet domain. With the dual-domain networking, the OSN 550 can achieve smooth evolution from the TDM network to the packet switching network (PSN).

3. CES support and flexible networking
OSN 550 supports the circuit emulation service (CES) technology, which allows direct transmission of TDM E1 services and channelized STM-1 services in the packet domain, implementing smooth evolution from the TDM domain to the packet domain.

4. TP-assist, care-free maintenance
TP-assist, care-free maintenance: The TP-assist implements care-free maintenance solutions for packet transport networks (PTNs) based on the MPLS/MPLS-TP architecture. The OSN 550 provides a planning tool for PTNs, which enables end-to-end visible service configuration of media gateways and instrument-free site deployment. Moreover, the OSN 550 supports automatic fault locating and performance monitoring of packet services.

Basic function

NS4 converts signals as follows:

80xODU0/80xODUflex/40xODU1/10xODU2/10xODU2e/2xODU3/1xODU4<->1xOTU4

Supports mixed transmission of ODU0, ODU1, ODUflex, ODU2, ODU2e, and ODU3 signals.

Cross-connect capabilities

Supports the cross-connection of 80 channels of ODU0/ODUflex signals or 40 channels of ODU1 signals or ten channels of ODU2/ODU2e signals or two channels of ODU3 signals or one channel of ODU4 signals between the NS4 and the cross-connect board.

OTN function
  • Supports the OTU4 interface on the WDM side.
  • Supports the OTN frame format and overhead processing by referring to the ITU-T G.709.
  • OTU4 layer: supports the SM function.
  • ODUk (k=0, 1, 2, 3, 4, flex) layer: supports the PM and TCM function, and PM and TCM non-intrusive monitoring functions.
    NOTE:
    Only the TN56NS4/TN57NS4/TN58NS4 board supports TCM and TCM non-intrusive monitoring of the ODUflex layer.
WDM specification

Supports ITU-T G.694.1-compliant DWDM specifications.

Tunable wavelength function

The board can tune the optical signal output on the WDM side within the range of 80 wavelengths in C-band with the channel spacing of 50 GHz.

Alarms and performance events monitoring
  • Monitors BIP8 bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
  • Monitors parameters such as the bias current, temperature, and optical power of the laser.
  • Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
Regeneration board

The WDM-side signals from an NS4 board can be regenerated by another NS4 board or an LTX board of the same type. For example,

  • The type of the TN54NS4T01 board is T01, and the TN54NS4T01 board can be regenerated by other NS4 and LTX boards of the T01 type, such as TN54NS4T01, TN57NS4T01, TN11LTXT01, and TN12LTXT01.
