Product Name : Oxytetracycline Injection

Ingredients: Oxytetracycline
Characteristics: This product is yellow to light brownish yellow clear liquid.
Pharmacological Effects: Oxytetracycline belongs to the tetracycline class of broad-spectrum antibiotics, which are more effective against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus haemolyticus, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium tetani and Clostridium perfringens, but not as effective as β-lactams. It is more sensitive to Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Brucella and Bartonella, but not as strong as aminoglycosides and amidol antibiotics. It also has inhibitory effect on rickettsia, chlamydia, mycoplasma, spirochetes, actinomycetes and certain protozoa.
Drug Interactions: (1) It can aggravate renal impairment if use with strong diuretics such as furosemide
(2)It is a rapid antibacterial drug and can interfere with the bactericidal effect of penicillin on bacterial reproduction, so it should be avoided.
(3) When used with calcium salts, iron salts or drugs containing metal ions such as calcium, magnesium, aluminum, bismuth and iron (including herbal medicines), insoluble complexes can be formed, reducing the absorption of drugs.
Indications: Tetracycline antibiotics. It is used to treat certain gram-positive and negative bacteria, rickettsiae, mycoplasma and other infections.
Usage and Dosage: Intramuscular injection: a single dose of 0.05-0.1ml per 1kg body weight for domestic animals.
Adverse Reactions:
(1) Local irritation. The aqueous solution of the hydrochloride of this class of drugs has strong irritation, and intramuscular injection can cause pain, inflammation and necrosis at the injection site.
(2) Intestinal flora disorders. Tetracyclines produce a broad-spectrum inhibition of equine intestinal bacteria, followed by secondary infections caused by drug-resistant Salmonella or unknown pathogens (including Clostridium perfringens, etc.), resulting in severe or even fatal diarrhea. This often occurs after high-dose intravenous administration, but may also occur with low-dose intramuscular injections.
(3) Affects dental and bone development. Tetracyclines enter the body and bind to calcium, which is deposited in the teeth and bones with calcium. This class of drugs also easily through the placenta and into the milk, so pregnant animals, lactating animals and small animals are prohibited, lactating cattle during the drug milk is prohibited to market.
(4) Liver and kidney damage. This class of drugs on the liver, kidney cells toxic effects. Tetracycline antibiotics can cause dose-dependent changes in kidney function in a variety of animals.
(5) Anti-metabolic effects. Tetracyclines can cause azotemia, and can be exacerbated by the presence of steroids, and this class of drugs can also cause metabolic acidosis and electrolyte imbalance.
Precautions:
(1) This product should be kept in a cool, dark and dry place, protected from light and airtight. Avoid sunlight. Do not use metal containers to hold the drug.
