Introduction

The test method of the NBS smoke density chamber is derived from the American National Institute of Standards and Technology NIST (the predecessor of NBS). It has been promoted and applied in many test fields. The test method can be used to test smoke density grade of plastic products, non-metal rail transit materials, ship non-metallic materials, wire and cable products, etc..According to this test method, generally applicable standards are ASTM E662, ISO 5659-2 and the NES 711 smoke density test method.
Compared to building material smoke density test method,this test standard has more accurate test results, and the optical sensor uses a more sophisticated photomultiplier tube, which can capture the subtle changes in the smoke content in the chamber.If you choose other test devices, such as Dräger gas detection tube,it can carry out aviation standard smoke toxicity test, and it can be connected with the FTIR Fourier transform infrared device to complete the qualitative and quantitative analysis of smoke content. 

 

 

Feature

1. The internal dimensions of the test chamber : 914mm X 914mm X 610 mm, and the inner and outer walls are treated with Teflon coating, which can resist the erosion of strong corrosive gases and greatly extend the service life of the box;
2. The chamber body adopts a fully open door design scheme, so that users can clean the inside of the test box more simply, and the efficiency can also be greatly increased when changing different standard test accessories;
3. An auxiliary heating device is installed on the outer wall of the test chamber body, and the temperature inside the box can be set according to the requirements of different standards;
4. An explosion-proof aluminum foil device is installed in the test chamber to reduce the personal risk of testers when an accident occurs;
5. There is a pressure relief port on the top of the tank, which is connected with a pressure adjusting volumetric flask to adjust the internal pressure of the tank;
6. Both the top of the box and the bottom of the box are equipped with cylinders that can move automatically for inhaling and discharging flue gas;
7. The NBS Optical Smoke Density Chamber is equipped with ASTM E662 radiation furnace device, which can provide 25KW/M2 heat radiation output;
8. The Smoke Desnity Chamber is equipped with ASTM E662 standard six-head burner, it can be used with radiant furnace for flame combustion test;
9. An air-cooled copper plate calorimeter is provided, and the back cooling method can be used to adjust the surface temperature during testing;
10. The smoke density chamber is equipped with ISO 5659-2/GB/T8323 radiation cone device, which can provide 50KW/M2 heat radiation output;
11. Provide ISO 5659-2/GB/T8323 standard open flame burner, which can carry out flame burning test with radiation cone;
12. Provide SB water-cooled heat flow meter, with standard measurement certificate attached;
13. It can be equipped with self-circulating cooling water source without external cooling water source, which is convenient for users to use;
14. The NBS Optical Smoke Density Chamber is equipped with weighing device, it can carry out MOD smoke density test and thermal weight loss test of materials;
15. The sensor range is 0-2000g, and the accuracy is 0.1g;
16. The NBS Optical Smoke Density Chamber is equipped with NES 711 open flame burner and stirring fan;
17. The switching between the radiant furnace and the radiant cone is connected by aviation connectors, and the user only needs to plug and unplug to complete the replacement between different standard test devices;
18. An optical cassette is installed on the top of the chamber, the light source is a side-window photomultiplier tube, S-4 frequency response, and the light transmittance accuracy can reach 0.0001%;
19. According to the change of smoke density status, it can automatically switch to three gears of Clear, Filter and Dark;
20. The ND2 neutral extension filter is installed in the cassette, which can not only facilitate the user's self-calibration, but also can automatically switch gears for use in the test;
21. The lower part of the cabinet is an incandescent light source, which can provide uniform spot output;
22. The smoke density test chamber is an integrated design, equipped with a touch screen computer, and the user can use the test software to set up and control the whole process for the computer;
23. Provided with a printer device, after the test, the user can print the test report according to the test software.
