HL-08C organic bentonite is highly purified montmorillonite modified by organic cations,which is hydrophobic and oil-affinity rheological additive.It has high cost performance in low to medium polar system,such as aliphatic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbon.

Main characteristics
Improve viscosity and shear force of drilling fluid and reduce the loss of oil-based drilling fluid.

Usage and dosage
It is suggested that it should be added in the grinding stage. The specific production process is as follows:
Prerequisites: high-speed dispersion
  1. Resin/solvent (Pre mixing)
  2. HL-08C Organic Bentonite(high-speed dispersion for 10 minutes)
  3. Polar activator(high-speed dispersion for 5-10 minutes)
  4. Surface active agent(If it exists)
  5. Pigments(Grinding to required fineness)
  6. Paint correction
Types of HL-08C Polar Activator
Methanol/water(95/5)   30%-35%
Ethanol/water(95/5)    30%-40%
Propylene carbonate(95/5) 40%-50%
It is suggested to use polar activated carbon containing 5% water to achieve the best activation effect.

HL-08C for pre-gel performance best in condition of dispersing fully and so as solvent.
HL-08C can be added directly during using.It performs good effects on anti hanging and anti settling after full dispersion.

Dosage
The addition quantity of HL-08C depends on the type of organics, viscosity and other rheological properties.
The amount of HL-08C accounts for 0.2%-2.0% of the whole system. The optimum dosage should be determined by experiment.
Efficient dispersing equipment and technique can better optimize the performance of HL-08C with less dosage and more profits.
