Description
This product is a white freeze-dried block or powder.
Pharmacological action
Blood gonadotropin is a hormonal drug with follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH)-like effects. For female animals, it mainly exhibits follicle-stimulating hormone-like effect, which promotes the development and maturation of follicles, and causes female animals to estrus; it also has a mild luteinizing hormone-like effect, which promotes ovulation of mature follicles and even superovulation. For male animals, it mainly exhibits luteinizing-like effects, which can increase androgen secretion and improve sexual excitement.
Indications
Hormonal drugs.
It has the activity for follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. It can promote the development and maturation of ovarian follicles for animals and cause estrus and ovulation. It can improve the sexual desire of male animals and promote spermatogenesis.
It is commonly applied:
1. In super-ovulation of embryo transplantation.
2. To improve the twinning rate for ewes, and enhance the effect of estrus synchronization for the receptors.
3. To spur female animals into estrus, promote follicular development, and cure recessive estrus or failure to come into estrus due to inactive ovarian function.
4. To cure multiple-follicle development due to ovarian hypofunction and infertility due to alternate development of follicles on both sides.
5. In estrus induction and estrus synchronization.
6. To cure aspermia, oligospermia, poor sperm vitality and low sexual desire for male animals.
Dosage and Administration
Immediately before use, dilute with 2~5ml of sterile normal saline. Subcutaneous and intramuscular injection:
1. Cattle: 1000IU, Buffalos: 2000IU, Cows: 1000-1500IU, 2000-3000IU for super-ovulation.
2. Pigs: 1000IU, with HCG 500-1000IU, or 1000IU per 100kg body weight.
3. Sheep and Goats: 300-500IU, 600-1000IU for super-ovulation.
4. Deer: 1000IU, Red deer: 1500IU.
5. Rabbits: 30-50IU, Minks: 100IU, Nutria: 300-500IU, Dogs and Foxes: 500-1000IU, Cats: 200-400IU.
Adverse reactions
According to the prescribed usage and dosage, no adverse reactions have been seen.
Precautions
(1) It is not suitable for long-term application, so as to avoid the production of antibodies and inhibition of pituitary gonadotrophic function.
(2) The solution of this product is extremely unstable and not heat-resistant, so it should be used up in a short time.
