HSS M35 is a molybdenum mix Cobalt based high speed tool steel which is a better tool steel as compare to HSS M2 due to its ability of having 5% Cobalt. HSS M35 is way ahead effective durable long lasting steel which is also commonly used worldwide for generation of cutting tools such as drills, reamers, gear cutters, broaches, die steel. It has components such as Molybdenum (Mo), Tungsten (W) & Cobalt (Co), Vanadium (V) grades, possessing high hardness, excellent cutting properties, red hardness making it as one of the best fine grade tool steel to generate hardness upto 64-66 HRC post heat treatment. This conventional steel has mix of cobalt & Moly elements and carbides in it are small and evenly distributed. It has high Tensile strength & wear resistance. This grade is most effective and economically priced making it most commonly used high speed steel grade.

Elements in HSS properties:
Standard grade for High Speed Steels; owing to its balanced composition has good toughness and cutting performance, hence many applications.
Carbon : : forms carbides, increases wear resistance, is responsible for the basic matrix hardness. High Speed Steel with high molybdenum and carbon. It has high wear resistance, high red hardness and good toughness. With its low vanadium content, this grade has very good grind ability.
Tungsten and molybdenum: improve red hardness, retention of hardness and high temperature strength of the matrix, form special carbides of great hardness.
Vanadium: forms special carbides of supreme hardness, increases high temperature wear resistance, retention of hardness and high temperature strength of the matrix.
Chromium: promotes depth hardening, produces readily soluble carbides.
Cobalt: HSS containing cobalt content is a high performance steel with good cutting capability & ensures high red hardness and tempering retention. It is particularly suitable in thermal stress situations and for intermittent cutting
Applications:
Heavy duty milling cutters, broaches, reamers, cutting tools, shaper cutters & rotary shave cutters for machining hard materials, socket head & hole punching dies for producing nuts & tap drills. Die blocks, broaching tools, cold extrusion rams, tools subject to extensive mechanical stresses. Heavy roughing work, machining high tensile steels, difficult to machine cast steel, grey cast iron, chill castings NF metals & non-metal material. Turning, planning & shaping tool, rough milling cutters. End mills, hobs, shaper cutters, cold forming tools, stamping & punching tools, cutting tools, working rolls for cluster rolling stand.
