Miran MTL2 Flange Type Magnetostrictive Liquid Level Sensor

The principle of MTL2 magnetostrictive displacement sensor is to generate a strain pulse signal when two different magnetic fields intersect, and then calculate the time period required for the signal to be detected, so as to convert the accurate position. One comes from a permanent magnet in the magnetic ring and the other from an excitation pulse generated by an electronic component in the sensor's electronics chamber. The excitation pulse travels at the speed of sound along the wave guide wire made of magnetostrictive material inside the sensor. When it intersects the permanent magnetic field in the magnetic ring, the mechanical vibration generated by the wave guide wire forms a strain pulse due to the magnetostriction phenomenon. The strain pulse is soon detected by the sensor circuit in the electron chamber. The MTL2 magnetostrictive displacement sensor can accurately calculate the position change of the magnet from the moment when the excitation pulse is generated to the total time when the strain pulse is detected multiplied by the fixed speed of sound. The process is continuous, so whenever the position of the magnetic ring changes, the new position is quickly measured. Because the output signal is a real value, rather than a proportional or re-amplified signal, there is no signal drift or change in value, let alone the need for periodic rescaling like other sensors.

Built-in installation method:

1. Screw the MTL2 sensor into the M18×1.5 mounting hole, and pay attention to the sealing surface of the "O" ring as shown in the figure.
 
2. According to the position of the magnetic ring, four threaded holes are drilled on the self-made piston, and the magnetic ring is fixed with an inner hexagon screw M4×10. The screw head is toward the electronic bin side of the sensor; The magnetic ring should be concentric with the measuring rod as far as possible, but the eccentricity of the magnetic ring has no effect on the measuring accuracy. If vibration is involved, it is recommended to add a PTFE guide sleeve between the magnetic ring and the piston.

3. If the piston is made of magnetic conductive material, a non-magnetic gasket shall be installed between the magnetic ring and the piston.



External installation method:

For sensors with a measurement range of less than 1000mm, it is recommended to install accessories; If the size is larger than 1000mm, the rod support shall be used for installation.

1. Truck the sensor with the level sensor bracket and fix the bracket to the sensor thread with the lock nut.

2. The magnetic ring is fixed on the magnetic ring bracket with an inner hexagonal screw M3×12. When the magnetic ring is installed on the measuring rod, the head of the screw should be toward the side of the electronic bin. The magnetic ring should be as concentric as possible without contact with the measuring rod, but a slight eccentricity of the magnetic ring will not affect the performance of the sensor.

3. Wrap the retaining strip tightly around the end of the measuring rod and secure it with two M3×8 screws and two M3 nuts.

Note: only one fixed lath is provided for the installation attachment, which should be fixed within 50mm from the end of the measuring rod; The attachment has three fixed lats. The installation method is as follows: one is fixed within 25mm from the end, and the other two are evenly distributed on the measuring rod.

4. Finally, the entire sensor installed according to the installation requirements with self-made screws can be fixed.
