Question:  I am worried about my puppy squirming out of a harness. how does it keep a dog from escaping?

Answer:  It is secure in the front of the chest and behind the legs. I have another vest, Freedom Pull, and I like it better. It slips over the head and has two buckles under the legs. It attaches at the back and squeezes the pup gently through the ribs. There is less tugging and unless the buckles are unlatched, there's no escaping.

Question:   Will the harness strap rub against the skin?

Answer: It doesn't rub against the skin if properly fitted. My malamute has a long soft coat that is surprisingly delicate. This harness is gentle on his coat yet is strong enough to withstand the pull of an in-shape 110lb malamute. Other harnesses have caused his coat to knot but this hasn't. Others that were gentle failed under stress. I liked it so much that I bought him a second in red.
