Main Applications:

2- imidazolidone is mainly used as anti-wrinkle finishing agent, dealdehydes agent, rubber, resin, PA6 and other cross-linking agent.Polyeva, various water-based coatings, adhesives, pigments, paints and other deformaldehydes;It can absorb and decompose formaldehyde by adding it into the coating alone.Wetting, blocking and dispersing function in ink-jet printing ink;Chelating agents and formaldehyde absorbers in photosensitive materials;It is used as formaldehyde removing treatment agent in paper making industry.It is also the main component of various air fresheners and dealdehydes, as well as the important intermediate of synthetic penicillin.

(1) In the pharmaceutical industry, 2-imidazolidone can be used as intermediates of a variety of new antibiotics, such as meloxicillin and aloxicillin, as intermediates of anti-schistosomiasis drugs, and as the basic raw material of the third generation of penicillin;

(2) ethylene urea in fine chemical industry as the basic raw materials such as: N - formyl chloride - 2 - imidazole alkane ketone, 1 - formyl chloride - 3-2 - acetyl groups - imidazole alkane ketone, 1 - formyl chloride - 3 - methyl sulfonyl - 2 - imidazole alkane ketone, N - hydroxy ethyl - 2 - imidazole alkane ketones, 2-1 - a sulfonyl - imidazole alkane ketone, 1, 3 - dimethyl - 2 - imidazole alkane ketones, 2-1 - acetyl - imidazole alkane ketone production such as raw material;

(3) In the textile field, anti-wrinkle finishing agents and dealdehydes for high-grade fabrics are composed of long chain cellulose, in which a large number of hydroxyl groups form spatial hydrogen bonds. These hydrogen bonds will be destroyed under the action of heat or external forces and then recombined randomly, resulting in the formation of fabric folds.When treated with ethylene urea and formaldehyde, the fabric can react with exposed hydroxyl group to form a stable structure and play a role in wrinkle prevention.This method can control the pungent smell caused by formaldehyde anti-wrinkle treatment alone, and effectively inhibit the release of formaldehyde.

(I) Resin dealdehyds: Formaldehyde is the essential main raw material in the production process of urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin and other resins. There is a certain amount of free formaldehyde in the finished products. Adding a certain amount of 2-imidazolidone (ethylene urea) at an appropriate temperature can not only remove the free formaldehyde but also increase the strength.

(II) Adhesives: All kinds of wood-based panels, such as plywood, particleboard, fiberboard and composite wood-based panels, generally using urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin or melamine resin as adhesives, only China's annual output of 80 million cubic meters.These adhesives are respectively made of condensation of urea, phenol and melamine with formaldehyde. All of them have the problem of releasing gaseous formaldehyde slowly into the environment.2-imidazolidone (ethylene urea) can be added to these adhesives to effectively reduce formaldehyde release without affecting the bonding effect.

(3) Formaldehyde capture agent: 2-imidazolidone (vinyl urea) is the main component of the household formaldehyde scavenger, which can be used as high-performance formaldehyde scavenger, household air formaldehyde active enzyme, formaldehyde long-acting melting agent, adhesive dealdehydes, photocatalyst, floor deodorizing wax, furniture deodorizing agent, automobile deodorizing agent, etc.

(iv) Ink-jet printing ink: ethylene urea is an important additive in ink-jet printing ink, which plays a variety of functions.It includes dispersing pigment, lubricating pipeline, preventing ink jet head from drying in air, preventing nozzle block, improving ink storage stability and so on.Also can improve the color contrast, get a high quality printing effect.
