Zhuru is the dry middle layer of Bambusa tuldoides Munro, Sinocalamus beecheyanus (Munro) McClure var. pubescens p.f.li or Phyllostachys nigra (Lodd.) munrovar. henonis (MITF.) Stapf ex render. It can be harvested all year round. Take fresh stems, remove the skin, scrape the slightly green middle layer into strips, or cut into thin slices, and bundle them.
It has the effect of clearing away heat, resolving phlegm, removing trouble and stopping vomiting. It is used for cough due to phlegm heat, phlegm due to gallbladder fire, restlessness due to palpitation, insomnia, apoplexy, phlegm confusion, tongue weakness, stomach heat, vomiting, pregnancy obstruction and fetal movement disturbance.
