Nylon is a monofilament non-absorbable blue surgical suture material made of polyamide 6.0 or 6.6 Owing to its uniformly smooth surface nylon slips easily through tissue. Nylon is particularly noted for its very good knotting features and high tensile strength. Nylon is dyed in blue or black.
