Procaine Hydrochloride is a local anesthetic, can temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers and has an anesthetic effect, strong effect, low toxicity, and no addiction, but on the skin, mucous membrane penetration is weak, not suitable for surface anesthesia, clinical mainly used for infiltration, spine and conduction anesthesia.The aqueous solution of this product is stable in pH3.0 ~ 5.0.Therefore, when procaine hydrochloride was prepared for injection of Chemicalbook solution, it was generally necessary to add acid to adjust pH3.3 ~ 5.5, and strictly control the sterilization temperature and time. It was advisable to circulate steam for sterilization at 100ºC for 30min, and attention should be paid to shading and sealed storage.This product structure of the aromatic primary amino, and to generate diazo salt, coupled with basic β-naphthol reaction, to generate scarlet azo compounds.

Application of leads to the depression of neuronal activity. The depression causes the nervous system to become hypersensitive producing restlessness and shaking, leading to minor to severe convulsions. Studies on animals have shown the use of procaine LED to the increase of dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain. Other issues may occur because of varying individual tolerance to procaine dosage. Nervousness and dizziness can arise from the excitation of the central nervous system, which may lead to respiratory failure if overdosed. Procaine may also induce weakening of the myocardium leading to cardiac arrest.
