Properties:Colorless monoclinic crystal. The density is 3.86g/cm3. The boiling point is 1560 ºC. Soluble in water. Slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, very slightly soluble in alcohol.
 

Application: It is the raw material for the manufacture of barium salt. It can be used as an insecticide to control a variety of plant pests. Used to refine the brine and boiler water used in the production of caustic soda by electrolysis. Also used in the preparation of pigments. It is used as mordant and rayon matting agent in textile industry and leather industry. The machinery industry is used for quenching and metal processing.

Storage: Keep container tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed containers. Ensure good ventilation at the workplace.
