Toxicology

Oral Acute oral LD50 for male and female rats >5000

Skin and eye Acute percutaneous LD50 for male and female rabbits >2000, male and female rats >2000 mg/kg. Not a eye irritant; not a skin irritant (rabbits). No skin sensitisation (guinea pigs). 

Inhalation LC50 for male and female rats >3.27 mg/l air. 

Applications

imazethapyr Mode of action Systemic herbicide, absorbed by the roots and foliage, with translocation 

in the xylem and phloem, and accumulation in the meristematic regions.

imazethapyr Uses Control of many major annual and perennial grass and broad-leaved 

weeds in most major crops, at 2-4 oz/a. Applied pre-plant incorporated

pre-emergence, or post-emergence.
