The vortex flowmeter is a speed type flow meter. It is currently one of the main flow meter products in the world.

Vortex flowmeter is a kind of fluid oscillation flow meter made according to Karman vortex street principle.  When a cylinder with a non-streamlined face is inserted into a flowing liquid, two staggered vortices are generated on both sides of the rear of the cylinder.  

The flow velocity and instantaneous flow rate can be measured by measuring the separation frequency of the vortex.  
It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, municipal construction and environmental protection projects. Implementation of liquid (such as water, oil, petroleum, alcohol and other chemical liquids), gas (such as air, oxygen, ammonia, etc.) and steam flow measurement, detection and control.
