Aztreonam has the characteristics of weak immunogenicity and less cross allergy with penicillins and cephalosporins, so it can be used to replace aminoglycoside drugs to treat aerobic gram-negative bacterial infections in patients with renal impairment; Under observation, it is used for patients allergic to penicillin and cephalosporin.

Function & Application

 

1. Urinary tract infections: simple and complex pyelonephritis caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsiella odorifera, Citrobacter, Serratia marcescens And recurrent cystitis.

2. Lower respiratory tract infections: Pneumonia and bronchitis caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter and Serratia marcescens.

3. Bloodstream infections: bloodstream infections caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Serratia marcescens and Enterobacter.

4. Skin and soft tissue infections: skin and soft tissue infections (including surgical wound infections) caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Serratia marcescens, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Citrobacter , Ulcer and burn wound infection).

5. Peritonitis and other abdominal infections: including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella smelly nose, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Citrobacter, and Serratia marcescens. Often need to be combined with anti-anaerobic drugs such as metronidazole.
