1.Neotame for Food Producers

   Neotame can be combined effectively with other sweeteners. When formulated with           sugar, sucralose and aspartame, Neotame is able to deliver the right sweetness onset         while masking bitter taste attributes. A synthesis method of neotame, which is characterized by comprising the following steps:

After vacuumizing the vacuum tank to -0.7mpa, add 1200g of methanol, 294g of aspartame and 100g of 3,3-dimethylbutyraldehyde, heat the water bath to 30 ºC, the reaction time is 13h, then concentrate at 40 ºC to obtain white paste, add 1800g of deionized water for crystallization, the crystallization temperature is controlled at 15 ºC for 15h, centrifuge the obtained white solid to obtain 372g of white solid, and the yield of imine is 98.9%;

Add 372g imine to the hydrogenation kettle, add 1500g methanol, add hydrogen to the pressure of 0.5MPa, add 85g palladium nail / activated carbon catalyst, heat the water bath to 40 ºC, react for 15h, filter and remove the catalyst, concentrate the filtrate to remove the methanol solution, and obtain neotame by ethanol recrystallization. The yield is more than 90% and the purity is more than 99%;

The palladium nail / activated carbon catalyst is supported on activated carbon by palladium nail alloy accounting for 5% of the total mass of the catalyst; In the palladium nail alloy, palladium accounts for 70% of the mass of the alloy and nails account for 30% of the mass of the alloy.
