What is butyl adhesive tape?
Butyl rubber adhesive tape stands for single-sided or double-sided rolled self-adhesive tape made of butyl rubber and self protected by a release paper available in various sizes and color . They can form an instant seal against water, air or dust, and remain permanently soft.
Butyl Tape is a highly tacky, self-fusing butyl rubber mastic , ideal for making water and humidity resistant seals. It is a high tack sealant with excellent adhesion to metal, other roofing and other insulating materials. It maintains its tack and flexibility to temperatures as low as -20 degree, and It maintains no flow at a temperatures as high as 120 degree.

Construction steps
Step 1: Clean up Before the construction, the surface of the base must be cleaned or wiped clean, and keep dry without water, floating soil or oil.
Step 2: Cut off Cut or choose proper size of butyl sealing tape according to actual working condition.
Step 3: Tear off Tear off the release film on the back of butyl tape and paste it on the gap.
Step 4: Paste on After the adhesive tape is pasted, press the tape with hands or rillers to make the tape fully bond with the base surface.

Material Description
Butyl tape uses butyl rubber and poly isobutylene as main raw materials and reconciles, squeezes into strip, covered with isolation paper. And coil it into roll shape. Through these steps, butyl tape is finished. Butyl sealant tape contains two types, one is single sided butyl tape, the other is double sided butyl tape. It has excellent adhesion to all kinds of material surfaces (color steel plate, steel, waterproof coiled material, cement, wood, PC, PE, PVC, EPDM, CPE materials). Thus it is also referred to as self adhesive type sealing tape.
Precautions for construction
1. Working temperature range should be 45ºC to 15ºC. (beyond this scope, the corresponding security measures should be taken)
2. The base surface must be cleaned and kept dry, free of water, dirt or oil.
3. According to the actual project needs to choose different types and sizes of butyl tape.
4. The butyl tape after construction shall not be torn or stripped within 24 hours.
5. Do not use with the waterproofing material contain the organic substances like benzene, toluene, methanol, ethylene, silicone, etc.
