Introduction:
Policresulen is a topical haemostatic and antiseptic. It is indicated for common anal disorders, such as hemorrhoids, and for gynecological infections. Policresulen is often used for gynecological infections. In some countries, it is also used to treat canker sore. Although there is an immense pain followed by the application on canker sore, it is considered as a very effective treatment.
The molecule is negatively charged, making it acidic. In fact, its pKa is less than 0, yet it considered weak acid. The mechanism of action is that normal cells are negatively charged, therefore repelling each other. However, wounded part is positively charged, causing the Policresulen to be attracted. Policresulen basically makes a slight chemical burn on the wounded area, thus killing the bacteria and making it antiseptic.

Function:
1.Policresulen Gynecology
For cervical erosion, cervicitis, various vaginal infections (such as increased vaginal discharge caused by bacteria, trichomoniasis and fungi), genital itching, pressure ulcers caused by the use of pessary, hemostasis after cervical polypectomy or biopsy, condyloma acuminata And accelerate wound healing after electrocoagulation treatment; can also be used for the prevention of mastitis (burning of nipple splitting).
2.Policresulen Surgical and Dermatology
Topical treatments for skin wounds and lesions (such as burns, limb ulcers, hemorrhoids, chronic inflammation, etc.) can accelerate the shedding of necrotic tissue, stop bleeding and promote healing processes and treatment for condyloma acuminata.
3.Policresulen Stomatology
For inflammation of the oral mucosa and gums, oral ulcers and hemostasis after tonsillectomy.
The mechanism of action of polycresol sulfonaldehyde (Policresulen) is: 1 against bacterial, fungal and protozoal infections. 2 Selective action on necrotic tissue and columnar epithelium and denaturation, but no effect on normal squamous epithelium. 3 to stop bleeding by coagulating plasma proteins and significantly stimulating vasoconstriction. Polycresol sulfonaldehyde has a broad spectrum of antibacterial effects, including Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and certain fungi, and it is particularly worth mentioning that it is effective against Garlicia, anaerobic bacteria and trichomoniasis.
