Characteristics

Silica gel for Beer is a kind of non-crystalline micro-porous solid powder, its pore diameter is 8-16nm. Its chemical molecular formula is mSiO^.nHiOJnsoluWe in water or any other solvent (except the caustic alkali and hydrofluoric acid). it does not react with any add akrii or salt It is nontowc tasteless, fiame-resistiftg and non-exptoslve. It possesses high stability urxJer hot or coW atmosphere and is harmless to human body mainly used in beer industry.
Use

It has large specific surface area and numerous fine-pored structure. It adsorbs the proteins which cause beer turbid and removes them through filtering, just within several minutes, thus prolonging beer storage period by 180-240 days and keeping beer from being cold muddy.
It does not affect the beer foam or taste. Thanks to its superior physical and chemkal properties, it does not N>ve any adverse effect on the beer foam or ta$te. It generally recognized by the world beer industry.

Instructions
HY-950 H suitable for um on br«w«ry production Hn«s equipped with diatomite fllttr. IlktwlM, It can b« filled Into the diatomite precoating tank and feeder of the fitter. the amount of filing is recommended as follows
FBI HV-950 In batches or continuously after ftnntnting and before filtering.
Filling in batches charges into the tank that is filled up with beer; keep adsorbing for at least S minutes. HY-950 silica gel can be totally removed during filtering.
Continuous filling: continuously fills into beer at the given amount and passes through a container that can maintain it at a minimum of 3 minutes than the filter.
Filling amount t$ 300 SOCppm.
Filling amount can be determined using "acceleration testing method'*. The method is also used to check the stabilization eff^ct.Take two bottles of beer and measure them with a turbid measuring gauge at the room temperature (the valM measured are the initial turbid level), soak the specimens at below OX for 24 hours, then measure at standard 0*C. The ratio shall not be higher than the initial turbid level. The value is defined as the cold turtid level. Store the specimens at 40X for 3 days, put them back to water for 24 hours, then measure with the turbid measuring gauge at standard 0*C. After that, heat them up agairv repeat the procedure. During the measurement if 3 EBC units are reached, the strengtherM^g test ends. The number of days at 40X multiplied by the factor 10 is then the actual number V days for fresh beer. It is considered far frocn enough just to do the above. What t$ more important is to check the air at the bottleneck of the specimens after the Urengthening test The Mr at the bottleneck of a half liter packing specimen shall be no mor, than 1 ml, otherwise, the results from the strengthening te$t become irxomparable due to the influence of oxygen. Therefore, the bottles with high air values will have to be got rid of.
The strengthening test at (0ºC -40ºC is conducted to compare which is the best among the various stabilizers. It is proved through practice to be the most accurate, if the continuous fresh tests are to be performed, we then recommend that the strengthening test at 0ºC -50ºC  adopted in which the number of days at high temperature is to multiplied by the factor 20. 'H value** measuring method that is commonly used in beer industry may also be adopted.

Beer rilka gel may abo be used together with other stabilizers.
Enzyme agent
Fill 1-2 grams of enzyme agent/HL into the treatment tank add 30-50 grams of HY-9S0 silica gH/HI when filtering the main material this will not only help prolong the storage time, increase the foams, but brighten the beer and make the taste stable.
Tannic add
Fill 2-3 grams of tannk acid/HL into the treatment tank, add 36SO grams of HY-950 silica gel/HI when filtering the main material this will not only help conserve the treatment tank.
Vitamin C
After HY-950 silica gel is used for stabilization, add vitamin C (2-6 grams/HL) after the beer ts filterecl this will prolong the beer storage time by 50-80%.
