Respiratory infections caused by viruses appears mainly in children, the elderly and immunocompromised patients. The major respiratory infection viruses are known as Influenza virus, Parainfluenza virus (PIV), Respiratory syncytial virus (RSVs), Enterovirus, Adenovirus, etc. In recent years, respiratory infections of Rhinovirus, the new virus and Metapneumovirus (MPV) have been increasing, and Bocavirus has been included in the major respiratory virus tests. This freeze-dried virus RT-PCR detection reagent kit contains one set of Primers and Fluorescent Probes to differentiate between the new virus and SARS(or bat SARS related virus). The probes are readout in different channels. The new virus RNA targets are amplified and detected in the FAM channel, the virus SARS(or bat SARS related virus) RNA targets are amplified and detected in the HEX, VIC or JOE channel (depending on the equipment used).

It also includes a Positive Control (PTC) and Negative Control (NTC). The positive control is supplied to demonstrate that the PCR amplification is working efficiently with the supplied components. To confirm absence of contamination, a negative control reaction should be included every time the kit is used.

This Freeze-Dried RT-PCR test reagent kit is a real-time RT-PCR in vitro diagnostic test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the new virus(ORF1ab and N genes) in individuals suspected of the new virus disease by their healthcare provider (nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs and sputum).
