DRY CARGO HD is a internationally recognised and acceptedheavy-duty hatch sealing tape which was introduced in the early1970s.
It consists of 20 metre rolls of bitumen compound coated ontopolythene film and interleaved with release paper.
DRY CARGO HD is self-adhesive and provides excellentstrength and flexibility for all-weather operations.
According to rules and regulations, metal hatch covers on cargovessels are expected to be water-tight without the aid of furtherappliances. In practice hatch joints can leak for a number of reasonswith resulting cargo damage.
As a safe guard and as an exercise in good housekeeping,many shipowners around the world carry hatch sealing tape on theirships.
DRY CARGO HD was purpose-produced as an all-weatherhatch sealer with proven results since its introduction in the early1970s.
METHOD OF USE
1. The joint should be brushed clean of any loose scale, paint,dirt and surface water.
2. The section of tape is unrolled along the joint, and theinterleaving paper removed.
3. The adhesive surface is pressed over the joint, and the tapefirmly pressed into place using firm foot pressure.
4. To remove, simply scrape off.
5. In cold conditions the tape should be stored in a heatedarea until Immediately before use.
6. In very cold conditions the tape may be lightly heated beforebeing turned over and pressed into position along the joint.
