Detailed Description:
Two floating seal rings are in the same shape and used in pair, and the sealing face of the metal ring is on the side of outer circle. After one metal ring and one O-type rubber gasket are placed respectively in the two collars, the sealing face of another two floating seal rings shall be mated, with one ring remaining still and the other in rotational motion. The O-type rubber gasket in the collar is extruded axially by the collars against the collars and floating seal rings. The axial force is transferred to the sealing face of the two floating seal rings where the mutual resistance is formed. As such resistance is supported and maintained by the resilience force of O-type rubber gasket, the two rings are literally floating.
For the rubber ring,standard design usually choose NBR(nitrile-butadiene rubber),we also supply
the more higher requested elastomeric material to meet a variety of applications,such as HNBR,FKM,VMQ.The table below provides a brief comparison among these materials.
