L-arginine hydrochloride, white or nearly white almost odorless crystalline powder. Melts and decomposes at about 235ºC. Stable in dry condition. The pH of 3% aqueous solution is about 5.7. Soluble in water (90%, 25ºC). Slightly soluble in hot ethanol, insoluble in ether.
