The HC-05 is a small and compact bluetooth module which is easy to control and configure.  Ideal for Ardunio and other MCU based projects. Arduino library and sketches along with tutorials are available on the internet. 

This module can be configured as a Slave or Master and is easily controlled via the simple serial port using AT commands.

With a default serial speed of 9600 and a pairing pin number of 1234 both of which can be changed using  AT commands.

These modules also work with the common FT232RL USB to Serial converter modules (We sell them as well), making it very quick to get up and running using one of the many availabe free terminal programs such as Termite or Windows terminal program.

These modules can be configured to work as a Serial to Serial Bluetooth pass through device.

 

Please note that the I/O pins work at 3.3 Volt.
