It is mainly used to make polyester, polyester resin, hygroscopic agent, plasticizer, surfactant, synthetic fiber, cosmetics and explosives. It is also used as solvent for dyestuff / ink, antifreeze agent for engine preparation, gas dehydrating agent, resin manufacturing, and wetting agent for cellophane, fiber, leather and adhesive. It can produce synthetic resin pet, fiber grade PET, pet of bottle slice grade, etc. It can also produce alkyd resin, glyoxal, etc. it can also be used as antifreeze. It is used as antifreeze for automobile, and also used for industrial cold conveying, generally referred to as carrier refrigerant.

--Precautions:
1. Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. It should be stored separately from oxidants and acids, and avoid mixed storage. Fire fighting equipment of corresponding variety and quantity shall be provided. The storage area shall be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials. Because of its strong hygroscopicity, it should be sealed for storage, and nitrogen should be used for long-term storage. It can be stored in iron, mild steel, copper or aluminum containers. However, coated steel, aluminum or stainless steel containers should be used for long-term storage.
2. The words "toxic" shall be marked on the ethylene glycol container to prevent accidental ingestion and inhalation of ethylene glycol vapor. Operators should wear protective equipment and have regular physical examination, especially routine urine examination.
