Use and description
Aprotinin is a polypeptide containing 58 amino acids. It inhibits proteolytic enzymes including chymotrypsin, trypsin, plasmin and trypsin. Aprotinin is found in the blood and in various tissues, with the highest content in the lung.
The high purity aprotinin was isolated from bovine lung and further prepared by affinity chromatography.
