Product Desciption

Polybutylene (PB-1) is a polyolefin or saturated polymer that is expressed as CnH2n. PB-1 combines the typical properties of conventional polymer with some characteristics of technical polymers.
PB-1 is used as a pure resin at the expense of metal, rubber and engineering polymers, it is also used synergistically as a blend component to improve and differentiate the properties of other polymers.

Polybutene-1 satifies the demand of the hot and cold pressurised water pipe market with the right balance of properties, including excellent flexibility combined with superior resistance to stress over long periods of time at high temperatures. As a result, PB-1 piping systems are easy to work with, economical to install and deliver long-term performance quality in commercial, domestic and industrial applications.

Applications: The main use of PB-1 is in flexible pressure piping systems for hot and cold drinking water distribution, preinsulated district heating networks and surface heating and cooling systems. ISO-15876 defines the performance requirements of PB-1 piping system. The most striking features are weldability, temperature resistance, flexibility and hydrostatic pressure resistance. The material can be classified PB125 with a minumum required strength (MRS) of 12.5Mpa. Other features include low noise tranmission, low linear thermal expansion, no corrosion and calcification.
