Oxytetracycline Injection 20% LA

COMPOSITION:
Active ingredient: Oxytetracycline, 200mg/ml, w/v.
Excipients: Light Magnesium Oxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Formaldehyde Sulfoxylate, Monoethanolamine, Water for Injection.
DESCRIPTION:
Solution for injection.
A light or light brown yellow clear liquid.
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIONS:
Oxytetracycline is derived from the metabolic activity of the actinomycete, Streptomyces rimosus. Oxytetracycline is an antimicrobial agent than is effective in the treatment of a wide range of diseases caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial, same protozoa rickettsiae, and ehrlichiae. The spectrum also includes Chlamydia, spirochetes, mycoplasma, L-form bacteria, and some protozoa (Plasmodium and Entamoeba).
The antibiotic activity of oxytetracycline is not appreciably diminished in the presence of body fluids, serum or exudates.
TARGET SPECIES:
Cattle, Calves, Horses, Sheep.
INDICATIONS:
Oxytetracycline is used to treat infections of the respiratory tract (Pneumonia), urinary tract, soft tissues, and dermis. It is used for infections caused by a wide spectrum of bacteria, except that resistance is common among gram-negative bacilli of enteric origin and staphylococci. Arthritis, gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by oxytetracycline sensitive micro-organisms, like Bordetella, Campylobacter, Chlamydia, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Rickettsia, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.
ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
For intramuscular or subcutaneous administration and recommended dose is 20 mg/kg (equal to 1ml per 10 kg body weight).
This dosage can be repeated after 72 hours when necessary.
SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
Administering more than 10 ml intramuscularly per injection site in cattle may result in antibiotic residues beyond the withdrawal period.
Use cautiously in young animals because teeth discoloration is possible.
Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection of the injection resulted in transient inflammation, including signs of discomfort, swelling, and/or hardness.
Use sterile equipment and sanitize the injection site by applying a suitable disinfectant.
Wash hands after use.
Keep out of the reach of children.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Do not use with products that contain iron, calcium, aluminum, or magnesium.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
For meat: 28 days.
For milk: 7 days.

Sealed and store below 30°C. Protect from light.
