Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a sulfur-containing organic compound, which is a transparent

liquid with no color and odors at normal temperature. It is a flammable liquid that is hygroscopic.

It is characterized by high polarity, high boiling point, good thermal stability, non-proton and

water solubility, which can dissolve in ethanol, propyl alcohol, benzene and chloroform, etc.

Most organic compounds are known as "universal solvents". A small amount of methyl mercaptan,

methyl aldehyde, dimethyl sulfonate and other compounds are produced when the acid exists.

In high temperature, there is a dissociation phenomenon, where the chlorine can react violently

and emit light blue flame in the air. It can be used as organic solvent, reactive medium and

organic synthesis intermediate. It can also be used as a dye solvent for synthetic fibers,

dedye agents, dye carriers, and the absorbent of acetylene and sulfur dioxide.

Usage:

1. Used for aromatic extraction, resin and dye reaction medium, acrylic polymerization and solvent

extraction.

2. Organic solvents, reactive media and organic synthesis intermediates.

3. Used as analytical reagent and gas chromatographic stationary liquid, and also used as solvent

during uv spectrum analysis.

4. Transdermal accelerator.

5. Antifreeze.
