PHARMACOKINETICS:
Absorption:

Distribution:

After 8 hours concentrations of 15 to 30 mcg/ml exist
Spectinomycin is not significantly bound to plasma proteins
Biotransformation:
Since studies indicate that nearly all the drugs is recovered infact in the urine we are not aware that the product undergoes transformation.
Excretion:

INDICATIONS:
Specinomycin is indicated in the treatment of acute gonorthoeal urethrts and proctitis in the female when due to female when due to susceptible strains of N gonorhoeae when penicillin is not appropriate.
Sexual contacts of individuals with known gonorrhoeae should also be treated.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
The recommended dose of sectin cn is n men and women this is also the recommended dose for patients being treated after failure of previous antibiotic therapy up to 4g of spectinomycin have been administrated in difficult-to-treat cases and in areas where antibiotic resistance is known to occur spectinomycin has been reported to be effective in children at a dosage of 40mg/kg(see SPECIAL PRECAUTION.
ADMINISTRATION:

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Spectinomycin is contraindicated in patients previously found sensitive to it.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS:
Specinomycin is not indicated for the treatment of syphis,infections caused by Chamyda trachomats or non-gonococal uretis.Antbiotics used in high doses for short periods of time to start gonorthoea may mask or delay the symptomos of incubaing syphilis.Thus,all patents with gonorthea should have serological test forsyphilis at the time of diagnosis. Patients treated with spectinomycin should have a follow up sergical test for syphilis after three months.
Because of lack of clinical evidence spectinomycin is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation
