ESE Lightning Arrester Specification
Operating Principle:
OP-ESE3.3, OP-ESE4.3, OP-ESE5.3, OP-ESE6.3 series ESE Lightning arrester mainly absorbs and stores energy from electric field of natural world by its exciter; its reflector and Lightning Arrester needle point are in good electrical connection to the ground in an equipotential state. Under normal conditions, there exists electric-field strength between exciter and emitter; every time before lightning, electric-field strength will increase rapidly, the potential difference between exciter and reactor is approximately same as that between thundercloud and the earth; the rapid increase of voltage drop between them will cause strike fires at points and ionize the surrounding air of points thus forming point discharging phenomenon.
Air ionization of points due to the rapid increase of electric field between central collection rod and exciter of lightning arrester can discharge in extremely short and accurate time period; the existence of large amount of electricion will reduce the natural Corona effect, forming anticipated upward discharge channel to rapidly and safely intercept lightning and discharge current to the ground.

Suppose first start time of Lightning Arrester is ΔT, the forestall distance of upward leader ΔL=V*ΔT
    As per the computing method from NFC-17-102 standard , Radius of protection RP can be computed as per below formula:

         Rp=   h(2D-h)+L(2D+L)        (h≥5m)
D is electric shock distance, it is determined by the rank of protected architecture; for protection type I,II,III, D value is respectively 30m, 45m, 60m;
h is the height from top of lightning arrester to the protected plane
ΔT is evaluated, tested and computed to get V=106m/s
    ΔL=V*ΔT

ESE Lightning Arrester Installation Guide
The installation of lightning arrester must strictly follow National Lightning Protection Standards-"Building Lightning Protection Design Code":   
1. To determine building lightning protection types, we need to follow the area, height of protected buildings, lightning strike times per day within the location, geographical environment correction coefficient and using properties of buildings;
2. To determine whether use one piece or multi piece lightning arresters as per lightning protection types and buildings area;
3. Downlead shall be electrically connected to the principal reinforcement of buildings, or make two or more downleads (downward conductor) as per standards;
4. Disconnect clip should be made to downleads (downward conductor) and insulation protection made to nearby ground.
5. Grounding body, ground resistance, lightning ground map shall be carried out as per National Lightning Protection Standards.
