Clodinafop-propargyl is a carboxylic ester resulting from the  condensation of the carboxy group of clodinafop with the hydroxy group of prop-2-yn-1-ol. It is widely used as a herbicide for the control of annual grass weeds in cereal crops. It has a role as an EC 6.4.

Herbicide of one year or pereninal grass family weeds and safely to broad leaf plants. It is suitable for cotton, bean, grape, peanut, potato, beet and can control of echinochloa crusgalli, avena fatua, alopecurus aequalis sobol, digitaria adscendens, glauce, eleusine indica, reed etc.
Acetylene ester should not be used in paddy fields. Acetylene ester is a specialized herbicide for wheat.
Introduction of common problems in the use of acetylene ester 1. Herbicides such as jingoxazole grass, commonly used in wheat fields, have no control effect on Poa pratensis.
 Iproteron had better control effect on Poa pratensis and could be mixed with acetylene ester
