Pressure filter is a pressure filtration method, so, with the pressure of the filter press feed pump, solids accumulate in the chamber until they are completely filled with solids to form a filter cake. When the Chamber is full, the cycle is complete and the cake is ready to be released. The filtrate leaves the filter plate through the corner hole and enters the manifold to produce clean filtered water. In many higher capacity filter presses, a fast-acting automatic plate shifter is used, thus shortening the cycle time.
