The field devices (sensors - like e.g. pressure transmitters - and actuators - like regulating valves) realize the control and regulation duties. The work stations for operation and monitoring serve to visualize the process plant and are connected to the field devices by a bus system.

Required control steps are defined by configuration and definition of the necessary parameters, connected to the PLC control by a standardized interface.
The system manages basic data - like articles, recipes, control recipes, material flow, cells/tanks/silos and scales. It is possible to issue production orders, to define production batches, to book and start required resources. When production is completed the process data will be recorded.
Remote service allows to support the operating staff quickly and without problems. In case of malfunctions it is at any time and within short term possible by th remote service to identify the reason for the failure and to restart the production.
