Pharmaceutical Grade High Anti-Anemia Factor Reduction Powder Vitamin B9 (folic acid)
Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin with a molecular formula of C19H19N7O6. It is named because of its abundant content in green leaves, also known as diteroyl glutamate. There are several forms in nature, and its parent compound is a combination of pteridine, p-aminobenzoic acid and glutamic acid.
Folic acid contains one or more glutamyl groups, and most of the naturally occurring folic acid is in the form of polyglutamic acid. The biologically active form of folic acid is tetrahydrofolate. Folic acid is a yellow crystal, slightly soluble in water, but its sodium salt is very soluble in water. Insoluble in ethanol. It is easy to damage in acidic solution, is also unstable to heat, it is easy to lose at room temperature, and it is very easy to be damaged when exposed to light.
Folic acid has two ways of active absorption and diffusion passive absorption in the body, and the absorption site is mainly in the upper small intestine. The absorption rate of reduced folic acid is higher. The more glutamyl group, the lower the absorption rate. Glucose and vitamin C can promote absorption. The absorbed folic acid is stored in the intestinal wall, liver, bone marrow and other tissues in the body, and is reduced by folate reductase to physiologically active tetrahydrofolate (THFA or FH4) with the participation of NADPH, which participates in the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines. Therefore, folic acid plays an important role in the process of protein synthesis and cell division and growth, and promotes the formation of normal red blood cells. Deficiency can cause reduced hemoglobin production in red blood cells and block cell maturation, leading to megaloblastic anemia.
