B: Synthetic graphite recarburizer


The main raw material for the synthetic graphite is fine calcined petroleum coke in powder form, add asphalt as binder, and then add a small amount of other accessories. After all kinds of raw materials are well matched, they are pressed into shape and then treated at 2500 ~ 3000ºC in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to make them graphitized. After high temperature treatment, ash, sulfur and gas content were greatly reduced.
Graphite recarburizers generally come from two ways, one is the waste cutting of graphite electrodes, and the other is the graphitized product of petroleum coke 3000 degrees.

Carburizer can be used during casting, which can greatly increase the amount of scrap steel, reduce the amount of pig iron or use no pig iron. Most of the recarburizers are suitable for electric furnace melting, and a small number of recarburizers with particularly fast absorption rate are used in cupolas. The charging method of electric furnace smelting should be to put the carburizing agent together with the scrap materials such as scrap steel. The small amount of addition can be added to the surface of the molten iron. However, it is necessary to avoid feeding large quantities into the molten iron, in order to prevent too much oxidation and the situation that the carbon increase effect is not obvious and the carbon content of the casting is insufficient. The amount of recarburizer is determined according to the proportion of other raw materials and the carbon content. Different types of cast iron, choose different types of carburizing agents according to needs. The characteristics of the recarburizer itself select pure carbon-containing graphitized substances to reduce excessive impurities in pig iron. The proper choice of recarburizer can reduce the production cost of castings.
