The styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer pellets were treated with concentrated sulfuric acid and cracked at high temperature to obtain spherical carbonized resin. The physical properties of spherical carbonized resins and their adsorption properties for creatinine and uric acid were measured, and the relationship between physical properties and adsorption properties was studied. The specific surface of the cracked product can reach more than 800M ~ 2 / g, and the adsorption rate of creatinine and uric acid can reach more than 98%.

Hemoperfusion refers to the removal of endogenous or exogenous pathogenic substances in the blood to achieve blood purification by extracorporeal circulation through an adsorbent device with a broad-spectrum detoxification effect or fixed specific ligands. Hemoperfusion is currently limited to adsorption and is also called hemoadsorption.

Hemoperfusion is often used in combination with hemodialysis and plasma exchange. For drugs with large molecular weight, fat-solubility, and high binding rate with lipoproteins, but poor hemodialysis effect, or for poisons of unknown origin, hemoperfusion can be removed due to its strong adsorption effect.
Hemoperfusion is currently mainly used clinically:
1. Rescue many critical illnesses, such as drug poisoning, pesticide poisoning, multiple organ failure, etc .;
2. Treat uremia, improve refractory hypertension and skin itching;
3. Treat severe hepatitis, hepatic encephalopathy, and hyperbilirubinemia;
4. Treatment of critical illness such as sepsis and systemic inflammatory response syndrome;
5. Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis and other autoimmune diseases.
