INDICATION:
1. Typhoid fever and other Salmonella infections: for sensitive strains caused by typhoid, paratyphoid choice of drug, by Salmonella infections gastroenteritis is generally not used this product, such as a serious condition, there may be associated with sepsis can still choose; in adult typhoid and paratyphoid salmonella are stained, to fluoroquinolones is preferred (pregnant women and children should not use this kind of Medicine).

3.The serious anaerobic bacteria infection, such as Bacteroides infections caused by bacteria, especially for lesions involving the central nervous system, combined with aminoglycoside antibiotics treatment of infection of abdominal cavity and pelvic infection, in order to control the simultaneous presence of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria infection.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Chloramphenicol is contra-indicated in the following conditions:
patients with a history of hypersensitivity or toxic reactions.
for minor infections or for prophy laxis.
aplastic anaemis.
during active immunisation.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Adults: -500mg every 6 hours or 50mglkg body mass daily in divided doses every 6 hours.
The dose of chloramphenicol should be reduced in the presence of hepatic dasease or in patients with renal insufficiency.
Children:-25 to 50mg/kg body mass daily,given in divided doses at intervals of 6hours.
