1. R290 is used as a "high-temperature" refrigerant for domestic refrigeration and automobile air conditioners.

2. R290 is used as a replacement for the for the more environmentally harmful R22 and retrofit kits are availableto convert units that were originally R22 equipped.

3. Other uses include plastic foam blowing, as a cleaning solvent, a propellant for the delivery of pharmaceuticals.
