Climbazole is a topical antifungal agent commonly used in the treatment of human fungal skin infections such as dandruff and eczema.
Climbazole has shown a high in vitro and in vivo efficacy against Malassezia spp. that appear to play an important role in the pathogenesis of dandruff.
Its chemical structure and properties are similar to other fungicides such as ketoconazole and miconazole.
Climbazole is a potent inducer and inhibitor of P450-dependent drug metabolizing enzymes, also used as antifungal and antidandruff agent.
Climbazole is mainly used for relieving itching recuperated anti-dandruff shampoo, hair shampoo, also be used for antibacterial soap, shower gel, liquid medicine toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.
Recommended dose: 0.4-0.8%.
