Product Introduction
SSC (Saline sodium citrate) buffer is a classic blotting and hybridization treatment solution in molecular biology. It is used in various hybridization experiments to achieve denaturation and cleaning purposes. The main components are sodium chloride and sodium citrate. Among them, sodium citrate acts as a buffer, and salt ions can combine with negatively charged nucleic acid to make it neutral, which is beneficial to the binding of the probe and the target sequence. SSC solution can also be used for the preparation of SDS-PAGE electrophoresis separation gel for nucleic acid hybridization. Commonly used concentrations are 2× and 0.5×. 2×SSC is used to wash the membrane with high salt to wash away some non-specifically bound probes. 0.5×SSC is used for low-salt membrane washing to increase the stringency of the nucleic acid chain and increase the repulsive force between RNA/DNA.
This product is 20× concentrated liquid, pH 7.0, prepared with pyrogen-removing ultrapure water, and sterilized by filtration through a microporous membrane. The main components of the product are 3.0 M sodium chloride and 0.3 M sodium citrate.
Storage and transportation
Storage and transportation at room temperature; valid for 24 months.
Instructions
According to usage requirements, it is recommended to dilute with sterile water.
Precautions
1. This product is a concentrated solution and needs to be diluted before use. It is recommended that the diluted buffer be used up on the same day and can be stored briefly at 4°C.
2. When using, pay attention to avoid microbial contamination to prevent influence on the experimental results.
