Veterinary Medicine 1% Doramectin Injection for Cattle Sheep Goat and Pigs
Common name:
 Doramectin injection
[Main ingredients] doramectin
[Properties] Colorless or slightly yellow clear oily liquid.
[Pharmacological action] Doramectin is obtained by fermenting a new strain of Streptomyce avermitilis. It is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug. It has a good repellent effect on internal and external parasites, especially some nematodes (roundworms) and arthropods, but it is not effective on tapeworms, flukes and protozoa. Its mechanism of action is mainly to increase the release of the inhibitory transmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) of the worm, thereby blocking the transmission of neural signals, causing muscle cells to lose their ability to contract, and causing the worm to die. The mammalian peripheral neurotransmitter is acetylcholine and is not affected by doramectin. Doramectin does not easily penetrate the blood-brain barrier, has minimal damage to the central nervous system, and is safer for livestock.
[Function and use] antiparasitic drugs. It is used to treat ectoparasitic diseases such as nematode, blood lice, and mites in livestock.
[Usage and Dosage] Intramuscular injection: once per 33 kg of body weight, 1 ml for pigs.
[Adverse reactions] No adverse reactions have been seen in the prescribed usage and dosage.
